What To Wear!

We all have closets full of perfectly acceptable pieces of clothing to wear, but we all are at a loss about  WHAT to wear for a portrait session.

Rule #1 Be You! If you're not comfortable and feel awkward, it will show!
Rule #2 Don't break the budget. Please don't go and buy a brand new outfit right off the runway!
Rule #3 Wear timeless pieces that you can look back at 25 years from now and say "hey, that's a great outfit!" So leave your sequin Frosty the Snowman sweater at home.

We are in South Florida, and this 80 degree and palm tree scenery kinda takes from the wintery theme of Christmas photos. Thankfully, the location I've chosen for this years mini sessions has a northern feel and I encourage the "wintery" look. Depending on which session you signed up for (20-45 minutes) there's an opportunity to put on hats, sweaters, scarves, even a light coat if you want that look. I always emphasize layers of clothes to facilitate having to take something off if it becomes too warm. You and your family members don't have to match exactly. Staying in the same color palette creates uniformity and allows everyone to show their style. Stay clear of large prints, big logos (name brands embroidered) , and all white.
You can easily dress up jeans and a shirt with a nice sweater or jacket. Turn any child's outfit into something fun and new with a hat. Hats are versatile and make great accessories for photos.

Below are some guides on simple to put together outfits for the entire family. I put these guides together  simply as visuals. Remember photos are about You (not your clothes) and the uniqueness of your family.
Looking forward to seeing everyone and creating beautiful memories for the holiday season.
